Boise VA Medical Center Memorial Brick Walkway
Over the course of many years the Boise VA Medical Center had collected a plethora of different memorials dedicated to recognizing/honoring people or groups. They ranged from trees & rose bushes to park benches and plaques. Though it was an honor to care for these items, it was also a challenge as many of the items did not survive the weather, time and the many changes to our ever growing campus. Thus the need was born to create a memorial that gave individuals and groups the opportunity to honor others at the Boise VA hospital that was standardized, and would survive the test of time.
The Boise VA Medical Center Memorial Brick Walkway exists on the grounds of the historic Boise VAMC campus to acknowledge the contributions of individuals, organizations, and entities. It features a beautiful hand made wooden gazebo, pergola awnings with park benches that is surrounded by a brick walkway. The brick walkway allows people and groups the opportunity to honor others by engraving text on the brick with or without a graphic symbol.
Eveyone who makes a monetary donation to the Boise VA Medical Center of $100 or more may chose to have that individual donation acknowledged with an engraved brick in the Memorial Brick Walkway.
If you have already made a donation of $100 or more in 2015 to the Boise VA Medical Center and you would like your donation acknowledged with an engraved brick, or if you are now interested in making a donation and receiving acknowledgment in the form of an engraved brick, please include this engraving form with your donation.
Each brick can include 1 symbol from the options given on the order form, and 3 lines of text with 16 characters of text on each line (including spaces and punctuation). If a person does not wish to use a symbol they are able to have 20 characters of text on each line (including punctuation and spaces).
Please use the order form link (below) to purchase an engraved brick for the Boise VAMC Memorial Brick Walkway. You are welcome to purchase as many bricks as you would like. Installation of new bricks will occur quarterly throughout the year unless extenuating circumstances such as weather, loss of staff, etc. prevent installation at that time.
Monetary donations can be made to the Boise VA Medical Center as cash, check or money order. Please also let us know if you would like your donation used for a specific purpose, i.e. homeless clothing, nurses, blind veterans, etc. Be as specific as you want with regard to how you would like your donation used. We will do our best to make sure your donation is only used for that purpose. Donations that are not earmarked will be entered into the general fund, which will allow us to use those funds on the things we need most.
