“Rosie the Riveter”, pink camouflage and the phrase “Fight like a Girl” adorn the door of the new electric car used by the Women’s Clinic

The Boise VA Medical Center purchased this new Gem2 electric car to support staff, transport supplies, lab work and women veterans from the main facility to the (soon to open) Womens Clinic.

The Boise VA Medical Center is currently renovating an existing building to house the new Women Veterans Clinic scheduled to open this winter (2011) and will be located in the former Mountain Cove School area. Currently the clinic is located in Bldg. 27.

A new full-time provider (Dr. Theresa Weiland) has also been hired and will begin seeing patients in September of 2011. The clinic will continue to provide basic primary care and also offer specialty services in GYN in this stand alone building. Also providing services to women veterans are Annie Fife, NP; Dr. Scott Christensen, GYN; Marv Sparrell, PA and Dr. Kim Lynch who will work with a Breast Care Clinic.

Women veterans are currently the fastest growing sub-population of veterans and the Boise VA Medical Center is eagerly adapting to meet their unique needs.
